Madi Yount Leads Centerville Varsity Bulldogs Past Cambridge City Lincoln Madi Yount breaks the record for home runs in a season with #9 tonight! By GameChanger Media Madi Yount struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led Centerville Varsity Bulldogs past Cambridge City Lincoln 8-1 on Wednesday at Centerville Senior High School. Yount surrendered seven hits and one run over seven innings while walking four. Yount collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Yount hit a home run to left field in the first inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs were the first to get on the board in the first when Yount homered to left field, scoring two runs. A tag up by Lilly Day extended the Centerville Varsity Bulldogs lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning. Lexi McPheeters took the loss for Cambridge City Lincoln. The hurler went six innings, allowing eight runs on 13 hits, striking out four and walking one. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs collected 13 hits in the game. Day, Aubrey Seifer, and Hannah Beaman each collected multiple hits for Centerville Varsity Bulldogs. Day stole three bases. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs stole five bases in the game. Addyson Pitcock and McPheeters were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Cambridge City Lincoln while hitting back-to-back. McPheeters went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs play at home on Friday against Winchester in their next game.
