Centerville Varsity Bulldogs Loses Despite Out Hitting Tri By GameChanger Media Centerville Varsity Bulldogs fell 5-3 to Tri on Tuesday at Tri Junior-Senior High School despite out-hitting them six to two. Ruby Snyder, Lilly Day, Aubrey Seifer, Hannah Beaman, Madi Yount, and Willow Thacker each collected one hit for Centerville Varsity Bulldogs. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs was right in it until Tri singled in the sixth inning. Tri got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run. Centerville Varsity Bulldogs took the lead in the top of the sixth inning after Day singled down the left field line, Beaman doubled to left field, and Yount tripled to center field, each scoring one run. Tri captured the lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the sixth when L Williams tripled, scoring one run, R Mathews drew a walk, scoring one run, and B Sherwood singled, scoring two runs. M Ballard earned the win for Tri. The pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking none. Yount took the loss for Centerville Varsity Bulldogs. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on two hits, striking out 10 and walking three. Day, Beaman, and Yount each drove in one run for Centerville Varsity Bulldogs. Sherwood, the number seven hitter for Tri, led the way with two runs batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Williams and Sherwood each collected one hit for Tri. Mathews stole three bases. Tri stole four bases in the game.
